WHY PEOPLE DO NOT VOLUNTEER

More small church wisdom from Glenn Daman. You can read his newsletter here . I agree with the entire list but I especially have seen number 11 to be particularly true.

WHY PEOPLE DO NOT VOLUNTEER
1. Exhaustion in an undermanned setting.
2. Not willing to work.
3. Some can only volunteer for certain time periods and at certain times of the year.
4. Need to know what is expected of them in their time, talents and treasures.
5. Volunteering can mean loneliness.
6. Tasks need to be consistent and important in relationship to the church's purpose.
7. Programs need to be interesting and appropriate.
8. Need acknowledgement, appreciation and recognition.
9. Need to know failure is allowable.
10. Need direction and freedom.
11. Need to be personally asked.
