It seems to me that the leaders of WMU-NC have made a critical strategic mistake. Their insistence on disengaging from the BSCNC has resulted in pastors and local church WMU leaders asking the question: How does the absence of WMU-NC leadership affect our local WMU ladies in our churches? My conclusion is there is no impact.
My WMU ladies will continue to have their monthly meetings. They will continue to order Missions Mosaic and all other material from Birmingham. They will continue to do their outreach in our local communities. They will continue to work with IMB, NAMB, and BSCNC for their respective offerings.
The absence of state WMU leaders will not affect my local church one iota.
Roy Smith has it wrong. The state WMU is not in trouble. The wonderful ladies of the WMU in the local churches will continue doing business as usual. It's not the state WMU that is in trouble. It's the former leaders of the state WMU. They have revealed that their existence is unnecessary.

Rational thinking there Les. Women will continue to do missions and be missional without the NCWMU or any other WMU.
Missions is part of the Great Commission not the WMU.
