I have chronicled how we have started small groups for the purpose of discipleship and outreach. I thought it would be good to let you know how we're doing.
In December, we rolled out our small groups after we finished the facilitator training in November. We offered three growth groups and two support groups. A "growth" group is a bible study and a "support" group is, as the name suggests, a group of people supporting each other in a common problem area.
Of the five groups, four of them have been launched and the fifth one had no one sign up. The growth groups are "Experiencing God," "Jesus on Money," both of which have five in the group. The support groups are "Single Mothers" and "Grief" groups, which has three and six people respectively.
I am extremely encouraged by our launch of these small groups. God is going to do many wonderful things in and through these groups. I'll keep you updated on how it goes.

Les, I like your group designations. Those are two great types of groups and I like the studies you're doing. I hope you'll drop by my blog at www.whydidntyouwarnme.com/blog and perhaps even add me to your blogroll. I've just finished a series on types of groups. That might interest you. Blessings.
