Last Thursday evening, our Missions Action Team (MAT) met to consider "Samaria" (USA) missions projects. We handed out copies of all of the descriptions of projects in Vermont and Pennsylvania from NCmissions.org . We discussed each potential project in detail: the dates, location, team requirements, etc. After reviewing each project I listed each project number on a flip chart and asked each team member to identify their top three projects. Upon completion of this exercise, we identified one project in each state as the most desired. I asked the team to continue praying about these projects and we would revisit them at the next meeting. Meanwhile, I took an action item to contact our state convention folks and get connected to the project leaders in each state (PA and VT) for additional information.
As of this last meeting, we have identified the following Acts 1:8 Challenge focus ministries:
Jerusalem: Salem Pregnancy Center; YMCA children sports teams; elementary school tutoring.
Judea: Prison Ministry in Taylorsville, NC;
Samaria: Vermont and Pennsylvania missions projects.
EOE: Vision trip to Ecuador (details to come later)
